Default Looking for some tips/help...

Well, I just picked up GW after not playing for a looong time.

When I quit, I was working on a Ranger/Monk. I started playing on it today and got it to level 10.

My current skills are: Banish, Bane Signet, Troll Ungent, Smite, Orison Of Healing, Charm Animal, Retribution, and Ressurect.

I am wielding a Zelnehluns Longbow.

Anyways, I'm looking for-

A) An okay build for such a low level.
B) Idea on what to do. My current Primary quest is "The Way Is Blocked", however I've been doing side quests to gain experience and level up. Should I finish all the quests or continue with the storyline?
C)A way to make money. I currently have 5.5k, with a bunch of Axe Grips and Dagger Handles in the bank I have no idea how much are worth.

Basically I'm stuck. :P

Thanks for helping.

Note) I only have Proph. and Factions.

Yes there is a ranger forum, but obviously the OP has very limited skills, and asked a couple of simple questions.

You named mostly monk skills. If you have that quest, you are in Yaks Bend.
I advise you to talk to skill trainers, and see what skills might appeal to you.

You have:

Sir Bertran at Ascalon City who offers:
Charm Animal, Comfort Animal, Dual Shot, Ignite Arrows, Point Blank Shot, Power Shot, Read the Wind, Troll Unguent.

If you have a pet, comfort should be in your bar and charm, of course. Ignite arrows is a great skill for now, maybe dual shot. It all depends on how many skill points you have. I'm gonna guess not more than 1-2.

Captain Osric atYak's Bend:
Call of Haste, Called Shot, Distracting Shot, Dodge, Favorable Winds, Feral Lunge, Hunter's Shot, Lightning Reflexes, Penetrating Attack, Quickening Zephyr

I would probably jump on distracting shot.

As per leveling up, Prophecies is the slowest of all campaigns. I personally believe in not rushing your first character. Doing side quests will help you level up, learn the game dynamics, and mostly it will help you learn how to play your character better. Doing side quests will advance you in the story line, just not as fast.

When you reach a new post... press ALT and look around for a skill trainer, check what they have.

AS per gold... kill stuff and pick up the drops. Sell to the merchant. ID blues and purples before you merch them. When you start getting max weapon drops, you can ID whites since in most cases the merchant will give you more gold for them. You can open you Inventory, go to sell... and see what price he offers you... then ID it, and you will see how it goes up.

Good luck and Have fun

At lvl 10, this is what you need. Others may say otherwise, some may say I'm crazy, but this is what I "believe" you need until Lion's Arch, if not beyond. Apply Poison will be your best friend afterwards, but for now, this is where it's at.

Wow, thanks for the awesome help guys.

Darkpower, I took your build and put it on, but I replaced Res. Signet with Ressurect.

DontMess, I'll take your advice and continue with side quests.

Thanks again.

Dude,heal breeze is nothing.
To the OP,try and use
[skill]kindle arrows[/skill][skill]dual shot[/skill][skill]troll unguent[/skill][skill]hunter's shot[/skill][skill]distracting shot[/skill][skill]lightning reflexes[/skill][skill]favorable winds[/skill][skill]resurrect[/skill](resurrect for [skill]resurrection signet[/skill] or [skill]rebirth[/skill] when you can get)

or you can just do alliance battles on a makeshift pvp char and get balth faction, all skill traders have the skills unlocked on your account:3

for attributes imo run 25% of your attribs in wilderness survival and expertise, and the other 50% in marksmanship(sry i hate maths:P)

A common mistake, which I myself made for sure, is that people like to have a pet.

If you are not going for a FULL beastMaster set up, I strongly advise that you leave out Charm and Comfort - it wastes two spaces and the dmg from your pet will not be overly impressive unless, as stated, you are going for a beastMaster.

You could, instead, replace these two spaces with something that is really going to help - may I suggest health-degenerations for instance.

You wont really have any health degen that early in the game, unless its from your secondary class.

Keep the pet in, it really helps in the earlier stages and even at later stages in the game can really help to increase your DPS.
